Latest improvements to Las Vegas homes, condos, land and commercial real estate

August 28th, 2008 · No Comments

I have been working hard on revamping the web-site component of Las Vegas homes, condos, land and commercial real estate. I designed the whole thing blind, which means that I did not even look at any other real estate web-sites. The reason is simple, while I could have learned some useful things by visiting other Las Vegas or for that matter US real estate web-sites, I could have picked up some bad traits also. I just wanted to do the whole thing based on an engineer’s point of view.

The downside of doing something blind is that one has to progress experimentally, through trial and error. So I keep tweaking the web-site until desired results are reached. There are other problems that are out of my control and all I can is to warn the visitors to my sites. Such as, for some reason all our e-mails end up in the spam box. I deeply dislike spammers, so we do not spam anyone, for any reason, ever. But when we forward e-mails that we’ve added notes to, from our own e-mail address to ourselves at the same e-mail address, it goes right to our spam box. So if you ever contact us, look for our reply in your spam box. While I am on the subject, I have been spammed with great frequency from a dirt bag operation called “b2b Credit source” a hard money loan provider. I have repeatedly unsubscribed from their e-mails and they keep coming. When I get mad, I ban the spammer’s IP from my server, except these idiots go through a proxy (anonymous middle man servers) to e-mail their spam mail and as such they are unstoppable. The best way to deal with these idiots is to call their phone number and complain. If they are spamming you, call and yell at them. If enough people call them, that can tie up their number all day long and make them sorry for spamming.

Anyway, I have added Google translator to the web-site, so now with one click the pages are translated into about 20 languages, re-categorized the web-site, so visitors can find what they are looking for more easily and added instructions for optimally conducting the search for resale Las Vegas homes and condos and land.

I also changed the look of the web-site a little and included gold background for headings. My sweetheart decided that since she’s lost some weight and that the previous picture did not reflect that all important fact I have changed and updated our picture. I have aged and she looks gorgeous. Parviz doesn’t age.  If I may say it myself, my web-site is much better looking than I am now, a dear lady, Crystal Burns called it an eye catcher, I couldn’t agree more. I am also thinking about changing the vendor who provides the MLS wizard search for resale homes and condos and land. The problem is a recurring one, the vendor fails to update the  MLS status of the properties and I get inquiries from customers about sold or pending properties that should not show up in the for sale listings, and if they do their status should be prominently displayed.

I have to update my blog too, and after that I don’t want to work on any part of the web-site, blog and forum for a long time, I am truly tired of it. I became a real estate agent to get away from engineering work.

The web-site and blog are doing very well. We had 700 hundred unique visitors in Feb-2008, this number will be more than 8000 for August (exponential growth) and we will break 10,000 visits. We are doing awesome in the search engine wars also and last month we had about 250 referrals from search engines per day. Now I can say that we have hundreds of top 20 links in all major search engines.

My Las Vegas real estate forum is not doing very well; I need people to bring it to life. I have built it and in Google it has ranked number one for Las Vegas real estate chat and number 6 for Las Vegas real estate forum. The forum has been indexed by all the major search engines and those real estate agents who are in need of customers should post their articles there. Believe me designing, building, authoring and defending a web-site against spammers is very difficult. Another point is that when it comes to being found in search engines, forums have the highest ratings and a few good posts can get you a customer much faster than cold calling, which I couldn’t do if my life depended on it.

I will continue the Las Vegas high rise condominium series in the next blog. By the way I started this post at about 8 pm (after starting work at 8 am), and am totally tired; but doing a blog when I am dead meat is a price that has be paid if exponential growth is to be achieved. We earn it the old fashioned way, we work for it. Attention dirt bag spammers!
