I am back from my yearly journey to Iran to visit my family as I have done for the past 20 years. I lost my father, retired Colonel Mohammad Saleh Saberzadeh on March-27-2010. He was a great man who worshiped the good Creator and loved Iran. He has taught me most all that I know. He was a Green Beret and Ranger instructor and his last post was the head of one of the Imperial Guard Divisions before the revolution of 1979. At the time of the revolution he was a martial law commander in Tehran. He never took a shot at the protestors nor ever gave permission to his personnel to fire upon people. He retired immediately after the Iranian revolution. However, seeing many of his lifelong friends executed by the new regime had a profound effect on him which he suffered from to the end of his life.

I will write a memorial about him at a later time. At any rate I am back in the US and ready to go to work. I wish to thank my extended family and our many friends in Iran, Europe and United States who shared our sorrow and helped us with the burial and memorials for my father in two different cities, Tonkabon in the North of Iran and Tehran. Baba is survived by my Mom, Naheed Mojtahed Soleimani and my brothers Parviz Saberzadeh who is a Senior Master (7^th degree black belt) in ATA (American Taekwondo Association), my youngest brother Dr. Mehdi Saberzadeh who is a surgeon and me, plus Karen and Dr. Mitra Mehrazma, Mehdi’s wife.

Lastly, life is about short periods of time (instances) and opportunities that come with the instances and I am extremely happy that I went to Iran and visited with my family once a year for about a month. I got to share my father’s life with him and am not a stranger with my immediate or extended family. There would not be any opportunity to make up for the past now.

Go visit you family and friends while you can and they are here and worship our Good Creator as no one knows what a second from now will bring. There is an end for everything.
