Karen asked me to look at an inquiry to see if it was legitimate. The e-mail asked our help with “acquiring a choice property in your city for immediate purchase and relocation of my family”.
The e-mail is signed by Dr, Elizabeth Jacob, Pediatrician, Ayrshire, United Kingdom.
And then there was a link for the return address. (Homepurchase@eja…..)
As soon as I looked, I told her that this e-mail is spam or worse; the giveaway sign is a return address which is different than the sender’s e-mail address. I also Googled the IP number that the e-mail originated from, and it is a Spammer IP.
Who would e-mail an inquiry without the name of the city? The spammer was too lazy and stupid to have the name of the city automatically filled in rather than using the generic term city.
I never clicked at the return link to see what happens, but if you were silly enough to answer this scum bag, at the minimum, be prepared for a flood of junk mail.
